On Tuesday, May 25th, Steve Baron, long-time member of CPTC passed away. He is mourned by his wife, Caryl Baron, also long-time member of CPTC.

Over 37 years ago, Dave Blackstone collected the group of runners he had befriended through his daily runs in the park and formed the Central Park Track Club. Next Monday on the anniversary of his passing, we will honor his memory with a run like those that gave birth to the club . . .

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Dave Blackstone, the Central Park Track Club’s founder and first president, who died Sunday evening after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held this coming Sunday to which all members of the Central Park Track Club are invited.

Front Runners’ annual cross country race is next Saturday, Sept. 27 at VCP. Check out their site for details — http://frny.org – but they have some fun team categories this year.
