For those of you who haven’t looked at the Club’s “Best Times” lists in a while, there have been a huge number of great new performances. On the track in 2007, CPTC women have set new club track records in every flat distance from 400 meters to 10,000 meters. Most recently, Caryn Waterson broke her club record in the 800 meters twice in a week, finally bringing it down to 2:08.47, less than two seconds off of the qualifying standard for the US national championships. Vanessa Mazandi set a record in the 400 of 58.3 at last Tuesday’s NYRR Night at the Races. Kate Irvin set a club track record of 4:51.41 in the mile at the New Jersey International meet.

On the men’s side, Adrian Crichlow has set two club records in the men’s 100, and is also now in the top ten in the 200 and 400. The men s 100 meters list has been been added to the top ten, and seven of the men in the top ten have run that time in 2007. Jeff Williams has set a new club record in the 800 of 1:50.40. Because of the long history of the club, it’s much tougher to get into the top ten in the men’s distance events, so it was exiting to see two recent changes: in the 1500 Jason Ostenson ran a 4:03.70, and new member Will Seidel ran 4:03.42.
